hungry??

ok!! i know i havent been updating much.. But ive been pretty busy lately.. And its only the 1st week of coll!! o-m-g!! Classes are ok so far.. Getting new lecturers.. One thing i didnt like??-Only the first day of class and their topic was about the term end exam already.. aiyo!! why wanna stress us out so fast?? (*prolly cuz the lecturers were jealous that we juz came back from a 3 week holiday-hahahha!*)

So, i think the whole world knows that i went to Sarawak with Sab n W.Hwei for 2 weeks.. Cuz when we came back( exactly a week ago) all around us were asking..."So, hows ur s'wak trip??". Hahaha... People really do read my Facebook statuses eh??

Ok, to the point now. This post is gonna be all about food!! All sorts of food which we ate in Sibu, Sarawak. Food which u never get in West Malaysia or if u do, from what i heard, doesnt really taste that good.

First few days i was there i always totally forgot to take pictures. Too excited perhaps.. haha.. I really really like the fried chicken i ate in a Foo Chow restaurant on the first day i arrived. It was fried Foo Chow style of course. In fact all dishes were fried Foo Chow style. I must admit, some i think needs an acquired taste..haha.. Too bad i forgot to take picture. Actually that time also because shy lah cuz first time meeting my friends family. :D hehe..

So, enjoy the pics!!

Thanks to Sab's parents, there was never a time where we were hungry. If we went out for dinner, below are the usual dishes to expect. Super sized seafood!! yum!!!
Just look at the size of that prawn lah... One big fatty boom boom prawn..haha!!

Its an operation task at the table when trying to eat this prawn with chopsticks all because i dont wanna dirty moi hands:D

Shark fin's soup served individually in a bowl with a lil flame below it.. I like.. Im not sure if West Msia has got such things but i sure havent seen one.. yum!!!
Pumpkin dessert with sago.. I dont like pumpkins but if its pureed like this, i likkkee....

Another dessert we had on one of the nights. Looks really really nice eh?? But, its all ice really..nothing special bout it.. Just the way they decorated it.

Now, its time for the street foods that we ate while we were there. We ate most(not all) of Sibu's specials.. As usual, some nice...some, first try-okla..2nd try-no thanks..hehe..

1st things 1st-a must try in Sibu-KAM PUA!!! This i like. For me taste like wan tan mee without any seasoning.. Very mee-ey taste but i like it. Served with red meat and those fried onions. Theyre many versions u can try, with kicap sauce, kam pua with chilli, with soup but my favourite is just plain white kam pua. :D I ate quite alot of this when i was in Sibu knowing that i'll never get another good plate of it in West Msia.. hehe..

Kolo Mee- This pic was taken in Kuching actually. Ok, not bad the taste. Far more ingredients added in the mee compared to Kam Pua. But for me, it does taste slightly similar to Kam Pua.. :D

Teh 'C' special. This is not a good picture of it as the three layers of the drink is not visible. For me its ok-ok la.. Abit too sweet to my liking. Some of the outlets put 'wheatgrass' instead of 'brown sugar' as the base layer.. and im not a fan of wheatgrass at all.. I rather drink a cup of the normal teh 'c' peng anytime..hehe..
This pulak is called 'kom pia'. Sum kind of meat bun..haha.. Not bad actually. There are 3 versions: KomPia soaked with some kind of sauce, KomPia with meat(like the above) and just plain old KomPia with nothing innit. My favourite?? The last one. Plain KomPia's.. but i got no pictures of it..hehe..

And this is called Tian Pian. (thats how i spell it la..) For me it taste like flour with fried onions and soup..hehe.. No comments really. Its the type of dish, ok for first time trying but will never order again..haha..

so, thats about it for the food which i remembered to take a pic before i gobbled them up. :D. Other food which i tried and i liked was the tomato kuey teow. haha.. Taste like the ying yong noodles we have over here..hahaha.. I didnt really like the Sarawak laksa. I know its a big hit in Sarawak but its not to my liking la..hehe.. rather go for a Kam Pua. haha!!! OOh-and i also tried sumkind of wantan looking thing called 'penyuit'. okokla.. not too bad..hehe..

So, yeap. I told you it was gonna be a food post. Sibu is just a small town in big ol' Sarawak.. The only thing you can do there is eat, really. Sibu i think famous for their Foo Chow dishes as it is a Foo Chow town anyway.. And here's what other things we did when our tummies were full..

We chilled in our room and slept, chatted , watched dramas..etc..etc.. hehe.. complete holiday mode..

We watched Transformers 2 in Sibu's Cineplex!! hahah! While the whole of KL fighting and grabbing for tickets to watch this much anticipated movie, we watched it i think on the 2nd day it came out.. boo yah!! (i heard only this week tickets are easier to get in KL for this movie) nyek nyek... Also watch ice age 3 there.. Nice...funny..i like..

This is after we climbed a bukit(which i reli forgot the name) in Sibu.. OMG!! damn tiring.. Look at how i sweated cuz my hair looks soaked in this pic.

Still at the bukit place..

This is the Master Wong Nai Siong. One of the leaders of the Foo Chow people back in the olden days i think. We went to visit(or more like browsed through) a Foo Chow Museum in Sibu. haha..

Sibu mini harbour..haha.. Its the Rejang River. People take the boats to more remote areas like Kapit and all that.

I played bowling at SIBU SUPERBOWL wit some of Sabby's friends and i proudly showed off my skill.....of how to aim the bowl down the longkang and succeeded in doing so... just look at my 'fern' score lah.. How pathetic..

Ok, thats it for now... up next when im free will be pictures of when we went to Bintulu and Kuching City.. Ciao!!
