I was at the Mamak shop the other day and a tv programme caught my attention. Not sure what was it though..
Neways, they had a section where they interviewed a bunch of random people at public places and asked them a few "kacang putih" questions about Malaysia in conjunction with the Merdeka day celebration. All the interviewees were Malays, except ONE!
TV Host: -Apakah bunga kebangsaan Malaysia?
Malays:
1.ORCHID!!!
2. ROSE!!
3. RAFFLESIA!!
Non-Malay: Hibiscus!
TV Host:-Berapakah Perdana Menteri yang Malaysia ada setakat ini?
Malays:
1. 10!!
2. 1!!
Non-Malay: 6!
TV Host:-Malaysia akan menyambut Hari Merdeka yang ke-berapa?
Malays:
1. 51!!
2. 57!!
3. 49!!
Non-Malay: 53!
TV Host: Apakah nama bendera Malaysia?
Malays:
1. Entah la..!!
2. Bendera lah!!
3. Bendera Merah Putih!!
Non-Malay: Jalur Gemilang!!
Get my point?? And those are the people the government is helping..

At last this blog is moving.Nationalists do not automatically arise from natives.There are natives who have had it so good that they take everything for granted.
What a shame... I was looking at some Merdeka celeb photos taken at Bkt Jalil and wondered, how many ppl were forced/paid to attend this yr's celeb....I m pretty sure the patriotic spririt wasn't particularly strong this yr. Very easy to see why, and obviously reflected in the lack of merdeka wishes on FB this year too.
